COVID SAFE Active Clubs Kickstart program

The Club would like to acknowledge the State Government's COVID SAFE Active Clubs Kickstart which provides funding of $2,000 for operating expenses, equipment or training to assist organisations to re-establish their operations post COVID-19 and enable them to provide physical activity opportunities throughout Queensland.

The Club has used this Grant funding to pay for water costs for irrigating our fields.

Working Bee - Saturday, 26th June

To all Wests Members

we will be holding a working bee at the Club on Saturday, 26th June from 8.00am.

Works to be completed are as follows

  • Edge field 1 to remove grass/gravel lip
  • Spread new gravel on basepaths and general gravelled area
  • Replace home plate and pitching rubber
  • Replace ferrules for Hollywood bases
  • Spread more gravel on bullpen and toss hitting areas to reduce grassed areas between fence.
  • Possibly pour concrete for Grandstand slabs - depends on tradie availability

Please come along between 8am and 12noon and help us get our fields back to a first class condition.

Women's and Girls baseball

Western Districts baseball is a proud supporter of Women's seniors and junior girls playing baseball and the Club has teams for both groups playing in the GBL Summer baseball Competition.

  • The Senior Women's team plays on Saturday afternoons with game times 3.00pm - 5.00pm.
  • Junior girls play games on Saturday morning with their age group.

In any event, the Club Committee would like to welcome you all to the Club. We are ONE CLUB with lots of different member groups; male and female; young and old; players and supporters, life members and guests; sponsors and backers; Mums and Dads - BUT WE ARE ONE CLUB.

The Club is a very inclusive Club providing pathways for players starting at Teeball (Under 8 years of age) and progressing all the way from Junior teams to Seniors and Masters baseball playing with a mens team, a mixed gender team or a women's team.

Grant Acknowledgement Batting Cage

The Queensland Government acting through the Department of Housing and Public Works (Sport and Recreation) - has provided  $177,371 to Western Districts Baseball Club to construct new batting nets to support baseball at Athows Park, Darra


Grant Acknowledgement Amenities Block

We are also pleased to acknowledge Brisbane City Council's Building Stronger Communities Grant of $100,000 provided to the Club to Install new amenities block to support baseball at Atthows Park, Darra.


Active Restart Infrastructure Recovery Fund

The Club would like to acknowledge the provision of Grant funding from the State Government for the following - Western Districts Baseball Club Incorporated has been approved $4933 under the Active Restart Infrastructure Recovery Fund to replace lights and purchase playing equipment to support baseball at Darra.
