Applying for a FairPlay voucher

Western Districts Baseball Club is a registered activity provider

Parents, carers or guardians can apply for a voucher valued up to $150 for their child, which can be used towards sport and active recreation membership, registration or participation fees with registered activity providers.

There is a limit of 1 voucher per child per calendar year.

 Key dates

  • 21 July 2021: Round 5 – Now open.
  • 29 September 2021: Round 5 applications close (or earlier if fully allocated).
  • 10 November 2021: Vouchers expire and must have been presented to an activity provider.
  • 24 November 2021: Vouchers must be redeemed by activity providers.

1. Check if your child is eligible

You can apply if your child:

  • is a Queensland resident aged from 5 to 17 years (inclusive) at the time of application
  • did not receive a FairPlay voucher this year
  • holds, or whose parent, carer or guardian holds, a valid Services Australia Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card with the child’s name on it.

 If you aren't eligible

If you are experiencing financial hardship but don't meet the eligibility criteria, you can seek to apply through a registered referral agent.

2. Make sure your activity is available

Search the activity provider directory to check that:

  • your chosen activity is listed
  • there is a registered provider near you.

3. Read the terms and conditions

Read and understand the FairPlay voucher application terms and conditions.

4. Access the QGrants online system

You will need a QGrants account to apply—create an account if you don’t have one. Watch the video to find out how to easily create your QGrants account.

Redemption of Fairplay Vouchers

Using your FairPlay voucher

Your FairPlay voucher can be used towards membership, registration or participation fees with sport and recreation activity providers.

1. Find a provider

Search the activity provider directory to choose where you can use your FairPlay voucher.

2. Check what the costs are

Contact the activity provider to find out the costs of the activity.

Your voucher can only be used for membership, registration or participation fees. It does not cover equipment or uniforms. If the fees are more than $150, you will need to pay the difference.

3. Give the provider your voucher

Present or email the voucher to the activity provider when you register your child. The voucher must be used before the expiry date.

If the organisation sign-on day is before the vouchers are released, contact the organisation and see if they will consider waiting until the vouchers are released.

How to print your voucher:

  1. Log in to your QGrants account.
  2. Click on the ‘applications’ tab.
  3. Click on ‘view’ next to the relevant voucher.
  4. Place your cursor over the PDF, right-click and then click on ‘print’ (or ‘save’ the voucher and email to your organisation if you do not have a printer).
